domestic help

HYDERABAD: A 20-month-old boy, Maheswarlal, was abducted allegedly by a domestic help in Ramanthapur on Monday.

At around 9.30 am, when the boy was crying, the newly-recruited domestic help volunteered to take him out for a walk. When the domestic help did not return with the toddler even after two hours, the boy's father, Ch Harikrishna, became suspicious and went out in search for him. After his futile search, he approached the police and lodged a complaint.

Harikrishna, who has a gas stove repairing business at Gandhi Nagar in Ramanthapur and also drives an auto, had met the domestic help in Koti on Saturday.

Introducing himself as being homeless, Raju had asked Harikrishna to provide him employment. On Sunday morning, Raju started working at Harikrishna's gas repair shop-cum-residence.

On Monday morning, when the boy was crying, Raju told the boy's mother that he would take him out for a few minutes. He went missing with the boy soon after. A case was registered under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
